Meet Tom…
Tom Rolfe brings a lifetime of public service, business leadership, and community involvement to his role as Lewis & Clark County Commissioner. Born and raised in Bozeman, Tom graduated from Montana State University and served in the U.S. Army following his participation in MSU’s Army ROTC program. His early experiences shaped a deep respect for responsibility, teamwork, and service—values that continue to guide his work today.
Before being elected County Commissioner in 2020, Tom built a successful career as a business leader and public servant. He served in the Montana House of Representatives and was elected President of the Montana Automobile Dealers Association, where he earned a reputation for thoughtful leadership, fiscal responsibility, and practical problem-solving. His professional and legislative experience gave him firsthand insight into the importance of balanced budgets, long-term planning, and collaborative decision-making.
Tom’s commitment to the community extends far beyond public office. He has served in leadership roles with numerous national, local, and statewide organizations, including as President of the Helena Kiwanis Club, the Helena Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Montana Taxpayers Association. He has also contributed his time and leadership to organizations such as the Helena Symphony, Leadership Helena, the Helena Education Foundation, the American Red Cross, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, and Montana Business Assistance Connection. Tom continues to serve on the Board of Directors of the Leadership Institute. He is a member of Life Covenant Church and an active supporter of civic and charitable efforts throughout the region.
Tom and his wife have made Helena their home for almost forty years. As County Commissioner, Tom remains committed to providing steady, responsible leadership and working collaboratively to ensure Lewis & Clark County continues to be a strong, vibrant place to live, work, and raise a family.
